Poat 211: The Slowest Book Ever

Progress at last,..... but in order to move 'forwards', I've first had to go 'backwards'. On New Years Eve I was literarily speaking entering Russia,.... but now I'm both literally and literarily back in England.
Thirty thousand words have been dispatched to the virtual recycle bin,.... but they were certainly not the best of words and I feel a lot happier for having abandoned them.
Having travelled so far in reverse, I've now missed not one, but two of my self-imposed deadlines. This failure has invoked the first of the promised penalties and a single Chapter of the Book has been published on the web. It's still in 'draft from' and awaits the scrutiny of an editors critical eye, so please forgive any errors. If you wish to read it, then please follow the link below and if you have any comments,...... please feel free to leave them here.

Blue 88. I think that you've found exactly the right place to start. The adventure was amazing, stunning and emotional, but this takes it from the 'Good' to the 'Great'. No BS,I was laughing and crying at the same time. Hurry up and finish the book, or better still, if the writing is all as good at Chapter 1, take your time, it will be well worth the wait.

THANK YOU, Jonny

Hi Geoff, I concur with all Jonny above has said, the first chapter is a fantastic 'start' to a classic bikers tale in the making. Please stop beating yourself up over the time... We can wait, it will be worth it. Ted will be proud, the rest of us will just be awestruck.

What a start. I never knew you were adopted, but then maybe you didn't either. McGregor and Boorman went 'The Long Way Round' with lots of money and for a laugh but you did it the 'Right Way Round' with little money and for a cause. Much Respect.

Blue88,
I've been reading your Poor Circulation blog from the start. Chapter 1 of the book is a cracking beginning. I'm not surprised your taking longer to write it than you had hoped to 'dash it out'. Read it again, go on. You are actually writing in a fantastically rich, dense yet still very readable and amiable way. There are virtually no spare words, no real meandering. Would you be upset with a comparison to Hemingway?

Yep, good stuff, but I'm losing the will to live...need more input, as I suspect others may too, I think you need to post at least something, or they'll drift away....no doubt to facebook, or some such...it needs to be 'happening'....
